Akbar uses state-of-the-art machinery from Germany, Italy and Japan for automatic tea cleaning, tea mixing, tea flavoring and tea packaging facilities.

In addition, an ultra-modern packaging complex of over 300,000 square meters was built for packaging works in Kelaniya. The packaging complex is equipped with modern automatic technology to ensure minimum usage and maximum hygiene standards.

Hygiene and Safety Precautions

Good hygiene Practices (GHP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) have been implemented in factories and offices. Facilities are set up with foot-operated pedals, automatic wash facilities, germicidal at each entrance, thermometers and other equipment to help detect and minimize physical contact. Staff receive training on all preventive and emergency measures and all government-enforced regulations.

All common areas such as the changing rooms, wash rooms and lunch room are disinfected at the end of each shift to prevent contamination. If any employee tests positive, a special disinfection process is performed in the area where they work.
